Hope everyone had a fantabulous Easter. I'm sure ready for the weather to be more consistent & stay warm every day instead of the wind/rain storms & then some good weather for a few days.

If you haven't learned how to do the corkscrew twist, you could simplify it by doing regular 3 strand braids. & If you don't have enough time - you could just do the top - but the bottom twisties just make it that much cuter!
Start by diving 3 sections right in the front & twist each section.

Do the same underneath - 3 sections 3 twists

Make 2 pigtails. Bring the top twisties all to one side.

& the bottom twisties to the opposite side as the top.

Twist braid each pig tail.

Fold in half & add elastic

Add some bows & you are finished.

Remember THIS -- well that is one of our favorite hairdos to do in our home but sometimes we like to change it up a bit - so here's a little modification to the zig-zag braids:
Start by parting the hair right down the middle. Add 2 small piggies at the top of the hair & braid only one side & take it over to the other & add elastic.

Mimmick what you did up top on the bottom section:

No make your piggies & don't add any of the braids just yet

Braid the bottom piece & cross over to the opposite piggie & add elastic

Do the same thing with the top piggies & cross over to add to the opposite pigtail.

Now you have 2 pigtails that you can curl, leave straight, braid or do messy buns. So many fun options - you decide!!

(sorry we did have a front view - but she was trying to be a model in every picture & it just wasn't happening - next time:) & sorry to those who I haven't responded to their emails - I'll get there - I'm just getting a bazillion a day - so I'm getting there. My apologies!!

This was so fun to do. I have major spring fever & the weather was so nice last week that we had to pull out our skirts & capris & have a fun new do with all our new spring clothes. Please come back beautiful weather.
Start by splitting the hair in half like you are going to do pigtails. Put one half of the hair in an elastic to keep out of the way. You are now working with half of the hair. Right in the middle, divide a section that looks like a circle with hair surrounding the outside of it. Sounds confusing - look at the picture below:

Now the hair that is left out of that pony tail, begin inside-out french braiding at the top of the part.

You want to circle around the pony tail that you made making sure not to include any of the pony (again only the hair on around the pony)

Once you get to the end, now connect the braid with pony tail.

Do the exact same thing to the other side.

I finished with some messy buns. I originally had the ponies down & curled but I wanted you to be able to see the entire braid. Maybe if her hair were a little shorter I could have kept them down. It looks harder than it really is.

Hope you guys all had happy holidays & are now back into the "normal"swing of things. We just got back from Disneyland last week which was just a cherry on top to end our holidays. Now back to reality.

As I was doing this, I was thinking it would be really cute to do these little messy buns on a girlie with short hair or even just leaving them as piggies. My girlie's hair is getting so long that messy buns aren't just quite as cute as they used to be.
Start by dividing the front part of hair in 3 sections

FISH TAIL braid each of those ponies. It is a little bit harder fish tail braiding smaller pieces of hair - if you can't do it or don't have the time to do it, just do a regular braid or cork screw twist. Or you could leave it straight (especially if her hair is shorter)

After you have braided all three ponies, pull into pony tail directly behind the first 3 ponies including the braids in it.

I only did half way so that I could do 2 more piggies below. divide the hair however you feel, I wanted 5 messy piggies so this is how I divided it:

Turn each piggie into messy buns. Or you could curl them & put into messy buns or jsut leave them straight.

We added a bow in the middle & it just wasn't doing it for me. Maybe a ribbon on each one would look cute.

I know. I know - another 4th of July style. I'm sure you are probably all so sick of seeing these but they have been so much fun to do. But thankfully for you, this will probably be the last one since we will be leaving here in the next day or 2 for the holiday.
First - I know you have all seen these. I was at the dollar store the other day & thought I have to get those - they would be perfect coming out of my girlie's hair. This is what you see on the top of the hair.

We started by doing our 2 pigtails with a zig zag part.

Next, add 2 different ribbons into the elastic. You are going to split the hair in half to do your corkscrew twist so you want one ribbon for each half.

Go ahead with your corkscrew twist.

Pull it back up & secure with an elastic. With the ribbon that was left hanging out, I just tied together in a bow.

As I was blow drying just the ends of her hair, I wrapped the ends around my fingers while the heat was on it to give it the curled over effect - so it looks like your firework. If your girlie's hair is a little more straight & doesn't want to cooperate, then pull out the curling iron & curl those ends over the pigtails. Spray to hold.

Clipped off a few pieces from the fireworks we got at the dollar store & just stuck them in all around the piggies enough so they would stay & not fall out. It's perfect because you can choose how many you want in there or how long or short you want them.

Super simple & there's your little firework girl!!

My niece slept over the other night & the girls wanted twinner hair (is twinner a word?). My little niece's hair isn't long & it's very thin - so I was thinking what can I do for both of them with their hair up & out of their way - since they were on their way to gymnastics.
Here gives you an idea about how long her hair is:

We started from the bottom, making our way up. Just add 2 elastics. On short hair, this works AWESOME because it keeps the hair up all day long, instead of little whispies falling down & having to clip them up.

Do your next row & adding 3 elastics & dividing the first row of hair to go into each of the 2nd row of elastics.

Now pull the rest of the hair into 2 piggies. Make sure to remember to include the hair from the 2nd row, as shown. Once you have your 2 piggies in, do a tuck under knot or whatever you call it - & so the hair is flipped on top of the pony.

Curl the piggies

& you are finished!! If you were ambitious - you could do one more row of elastics before adding your piggies but since I had 2 girls hair to do - we didn't because of time.

So here's the long version. This is my girlie. The only difference that we did was with each elastic, we did a tuck under knot with it.

Here are the 2 little girlies together (of course the onery one is mine:) Same style - but looks different because of the length of the hair.
